Concrete Stairs Building Guide
Building code typically requires a rise between 4-7.75 inches and a tread depth of at least 10 inches. The ideal rise/run ratio follows the rule: 2R + T = 24-25 inches. Minimum stair width is usually 36 inches. Use 4000 PSI concrete mix for stairs, and reinforce with #4 rebar. Forms should be well-braced to handle the weight of wet concrete (~150 lbs per cubic foot). Always check local building codes before construction.
