How Weighted Grades Work

A weighted grade calculation multiplies each score by its weight, sums the results, then divides by the total weight. For example, if homework (20%) is 92% and the final (80%) is 88%, your weighted grade is (92x20 + 88x80) / 100 = 88.8%. Make sure your weights add up to 100% for an accurate course grade. This calculator uses the standard US letter grade scale.
